  1. On the project’s Invoices tab, find the sent invoice and choose “Record payment”.
  2. Enter the “Amount received” — it starts filled in with the full balance — and the “Date received”.
  3. Choose “Record payment”. Anything less than the balance leaves the invoice open; the payment that covers the balance marks it paid.

The invoice row then reads, for example, “Paid $200 of $450 · $250 still due”. You cannot record more than the balance.

  • Their invoice page shows “Received so far” and the “Balance due”.
  • The Pay button charges the balance, never the full total again — the same goes for money drawn from a prepaid balance.
  • Reminders show what was received and ask for the rest.
  • Their statement of account lists each payment on its own line.

“Mark paid” is still there for an invoice paid in full in one go.
