Share the client portal and a status link

One link that shows your client everything on the job, and on Pro, a status page that answers “any update?”

  2. The client status link (Pro)

Every project gets a client portal the moment you create it. Your client opens it from a link and never makes an account.

The client portalLink to “The client portal

  • On the project, “Copy portal link” copies it and “Open portal” shows you exactly what your client sees.
  • The portal shows progress (the share of deliverables delivered), the agreement, what is outstanding and when the next payment is due, anything waiting on the client, and then the scope, invoices, change orders, their brief, and your payment instructions.
  • Once your client has looked, the project bar says “Client portal last viewed” with the time.

The portal link cannot be switched off or replaced from the project today. Invoice, scope, intake, and contract links can each be rotated or revoked from their own tabs.

  • It lives on the Plan tab under “Client status link”, and appears once the project has phases.
  • “Send by email” creates the link if there isn’t one yet and emails your client a status update. Their replies come to you.
  • Once a link exists you can copy it, preview it, “Revoke link”, or “Replace with a new link”.
  • The status page shows the current stage, the estimated completion date, overall progress, and each stage as complete, in progress, or up next. It never shows prices, invoices, or your notes.

The page updates itself, so a link you sent last month still shows today’s plan. If you move from Pro to Free, an existing status link keeps working, but revoking or replacing it needs Pro.
